Wed 130825 Bet £40.00 on Ladbrokes Roulette...lost 'half' through doubling up...
DIFFICULTIES PAYING BILLS.../PLUS, PAYING FOR FOOD/DRINK...?!
First, I knew I was totally flat broke...; as the money left inside of my current a/c. can only cover 2 bills...both of which are due, immediately, right now.
Once those 2 bills have been paid...
- £33.00 Council Tax
- £35.00 Travel pass (I need this to go to college, soon.)
----------
£68.00
And, I only have no more than £50.00 being left inside of my bank a/c. So, the question is how to make some more money 'legally'...as opposed to 'steal'.
I decided to try going gambling, again...; if only to make a few pounds...possibly, £10.00.
Well, they do say that, 'the best laid plans of mice and men can go awry...?!'
-----------------------
I deposited £40.00 into my Ladbrokes a/c.
And, started playing one of my favourite games: Premium Roulette.
I would love to say the funds went 'up/and, down' rather wildly...; but, certainly, not by much...; I remember the total hovering around £38.xx/£39.xx. I bet 10p...won 10p/I bet again...then, lost 10p/going straight back to where my total had 'started'...?!
Then, came a sudden turn of 'bad luck'...where I was betting on 'red'...and, multiple times in a row 'black' kept on, repeatedly, turning up, instead...?!
In these sort of cases, I tend to try and win by, constantly, 'doubling' up'...; hoping that eventually my betting choice will come up, surely...?
The disadvantage of 'doubling up' being...; you are, in fact, doubling your amount of losses each time you do it.
0.10 -> 0.20 -> 0.40 -> 0.80 -> 1.60 -> 3.20 -> 6.40 -> 12.80 -> 25.60...and, so on...
NOTE: When you see the current bet says £6.40...; it doesn't actually mean you went and lost a total of £6.40; as you have to add on all of the losses that went on before that...: 3.20+1.60+0.80+0.40+0.20+0.10 = £6.30 + £6.40 = £12.70. So, when the 'doubling up' bet reaches £6.40...in all you've lost, at least, 'double' that amount.
Well, I started with £40.00...and, through using the strategy of 'doubling up'...I saw my total funds drop down to become about half what was my original investment total...£ 26.92; so, my next choice was...do I try and 'double up' again, going from there...by doing instead of the last bet £6.40...£12.80...and, what if it 'lost'...? Then, my £26.90 balance is going to say just £14.10...; I was already struggling with 'how to pay the bills', before...; but, now, this situation has become even far worse...!
Sometimes, rather than come away from the Roulette table with absolutely nothing: £0.00. It's best to just 'cut your losses and run'.
In the end I decided to withdraw the £25.90...back into my bank a/c.; after acknowledging I'd lost out of £40.00 almost half...; a loss of £14.10.

MY LESSONS TODAY, ARE...
- Don't bet on the 13th of the month...!
- Always, remember to set a 'stop limit'...; if your total halves...; then, quit. It's far better to leave with having 'something'...; than, having absolutely 'nothing' left.
- Do not bet when you are feeling highly emotional, down, depressed, extremely sad and sorry for yourself.
- Do not go chasing, repeatedly, after your losses...; as you are, quite likely, to lose far more.
- Never ever believe that gambling money comes really 'easy'...; because, in truth, it comes really hard(involving much 'uncertainty', and, ever constant 'risk'...???
- Do not depend on gambling...; or, whatever gambling strategy...as being a 100% sure' thing..; as it's based purely on 'random' luck.
- Acknowledge what is called: 'Sod's Law'. The more a gambler is absolutely 'desperate' to win...; then, the far more likely it is they will end up losing, instead.
